If you like Champagne, you’ll love our estate-grown Traditional Method sparkling wine!Â
The Traditional Method is the process of inducing a second fermentation inside an already bottled wine by adding more yeast and sugar. It was first documented in England by Christopher Merret in 1662 as a form of improving French wine that had spoiled in its water-bound journey from France to England. In 1668, Dom Perignon, a Benedictine monk living in Champagne, France, popularized the art of Traditional Method wines, later known as “Méthode Champenoise.” The Hinterland estate produces grapes that are perfectly balanced in acidity with low sugars, ideal for Traditional Method wines.
Les Etoiles is a classic Traditional Method sparkling wine made with estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Enjoy now or age in your cellar for 5+ years!
Les Etoiles offers aromas of toasted almonds, candied lemon rinds, and baked red apples. Showing all the trademark Champagne flavours with notes of butter, biscuits, and vanilla scones. Les Etoiles is lovely on its own, but serve it with tempura, buttered popcorn, or roasted game for the perfect pairing!
